Last updated: 9 September 2026. Working terms for NCI Porthole — stations should confirm them with their own charity procedures.

The service

Porthole helps NCI stations plan watches, manage crew, and publish a limited public on-watch page. Access is by invitation only.

Your account

• Keep your password private and use a strong one.
• Only use the rota for genuine station duties and notices.
• Do not post personal data about others beyond what the rota needs.
• Station Managers may suspend or remove access when membership ends or rules are broken.

Operational use

Porthole supports station organisation. It does not replace Coastguard procedures, station standing orders, or emergency communications. In an emergency at sea call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Availability

We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Stations should keep an offline fallback for critical lookout periods if needed.

These terms may be updated as the product grows. Material changes will be noted here with a new date.
